Welcome to SMOC
A place to grow in faith and friendship
We’re part of the worldwide Coptic Orthodox Christian Church, continuing a living faith that began with Christ and His Apostles.
We are affiliated with the Coptic Orthodox Church which was
founded around 42–43 A.D. in Alexandria, Egypt, by Saint Mark the Evangelist, who is
also the author of the second Gospel. This makes it one of the earliest Christian churches.
Our mission is to make Orthodox Christianity available to people of all backgrounds, so
everyone can encounter God, support one another, and grow together in faith. Here we
welcome everyone seeking to experience the depth and beauty of the Orthodox faith.
Experience orthodox worship that connects heaven and earth.
Our worship is ancient, beautiful, and filled with prayer and song that lift the heart to God.
Services are in English and open to everyone — whether you’ve attended Orthodox
worship before or are visiting for the first time.

Faith, Fellowship, and Everyday Life
Church life goes beyond Sunday. We share meals, celebrate feast days, study the
Scriptures, serve our neighbours, and support one another in daily life. There’s a place for
everyone — families, singles, young people, and newcomers alike.

Orthodox Christianity is the original expression of the Christian faith, and is the ancient
faith of the Apostles, preserved through centuries of living tradition.
It offers a profound spiritual path that focuses on transforming the heart through prayer
and love.
